Premise Alert Program

On August 28, 2009, the State of Illinois passed the Illinois Premise Alert Program Act. This Act was passed to ensure that consistently high levels of public safety service are available to every resident in the State of Illinois, including those who may require special consideration.

This Act allows individuals with special needs or disabilities, their families or their caregivers an opportunity to provide information that describes what special circumstances may be required when first responders, such as Police, Fire or Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel, respond to that individual’s residence or place of work in the event of an emergency.  The information will be kept in a secure database and can only be accessed by the Police, Fire or EMS units responding to the specific location.  All information provided is strictly voluntary on the part of the participants and is kept confidential.

For more information, call Crime Prevention at (630) 543-3080. To register for the program, you can either download the Premise Alert registration form here or pick up a registration form at the Addison Police Department. For our Spanish speakers, you can download the Spanish Premise Alert registration form here. Completed registration forms must be returned to the Addison Police Department, 3 Friendship Plaza, Addison, Illinois.
