Where is the police department located?
The Addison Police Department is located at 3 Friendship Plaza, which is on the south side of Lake Street (U.S. Route 20), immediately east of J.F. Kennedy Drive, and west of Addison Road and on the north side of Army Trail Boulevard, east of the Army Trail Boulevard/Kennedy Drive intersection.

Entrances to Friendship Plaza are located on J.F. Kennedy Drive, south of Lake Street, and on Army Trail Boulevard at School Street, east of the Army Trail Boulevard/Kennedy Drive intersection.

Where is the DuPage County Addison Field Court located?

The DuPage County 18th Judicial Circuit Field Court (Courtroom AD) is located on the second floor of the Addison Police Department, 3 Friendship Plaza.

Driving Directions from the North (Interstate 290 and Illinois 53):
South on Interstate 290 and Illinois 53 to the Lake Street (U.S. Route 20) exit. East on Lake Street approximately 2-1/2 miles to J.F. Kennedy Drive. Enter Friendship Plaza from J.F. Kennedy Drive (see above).

Driving Directions from the North (Illinois 83):
South on Illinois 83, underneath the Interstate 290 bridge, to the Lake Street (U.S. Route 20) exit. West on Lake Street approximately 1-1/2 miles to J.F. Kennedy Drive; left turn lane at traffic light. Enter Friendship Plaza from J.F. Kennedy Drive (see above).

Where do I pay traffic tickets?

Neither the Village of Addison nor the Addison Police Department accepts payment for traffic tickets. Those tickets must be paid at the DuPage County Circuit Clerk's office located at 505 N. County Farm Road in Wheaton, Telephone: (630) 407-8600. These tickets may also be paid in court, but only on your scheduled court date.

Where do I pay Village of Addison parking or compliance tickets?

The Addison Police Department does not accept payment for any type of ticket or fine. You may pay Village of Addison parking and compliance tickets received within the Village in person at the Village Hall located at 1 Friendship Plaza. After hours, you can deposit your payment in the white mailbox located in the parking lot of the Village Hall or online by going to Violations Payment.com, Inc. Please allow three days for your payment to post.  If you have any questions regarding your parking tickets, please contact the Police Department at (630) 543-3080.

I missed my court date at the DuPage County Addison Field Court. What should I do?

Can someone solicit door to door in my neighborhood?

Yes. A solicitor is defined as any person going upon any premises and ringing the doorbell upon or near any door or creating any sound in any other manner calculated to attract the attention of the occupant of such residence for the purpose of doing or performing the following activities: Seeking to obtain orders for future delivery for the purchase of goods, wares, merchandise, food stuffs, services of any kind, character, or description whatever, for any kind of consideration whatever; seeking to obtain prospective customers for application or purchase of insurance of any type; seeking to obtain subscriptions to books, magazines, periodicals, newspapers and every other type or kind of publication; or seeking to obtain contributions on behalf of any charitable, civic, educational or religious organization.

The solicitor must display an identification tag issued by the Village of Addison in order to solicit door to door. The Village requires all solicitors apply for a permit at least 30 days prior to the event.  The permit must be approved by the Addison Police Department and the Village Manager's Office and is valid for 90 days.  To download a copy of the Solicitors Permit, click here.

Does the Police Department solicit donations over the phone or through the mail?

The Addison Police Department does not solicit any donations over the phone or through the mail. To report a solicitor claiming to represent a police department, contact the Addison Police Department at (630) 543-3080.

How do I know if someone soliciting donations is legitimate?

To check if a non-for-profit organization is legitimate, contact the Attorney General's office at (312) 814-3000.

Can I make a complaint about a solicitor who was at my door?

Yes. Contact the Addison Police Department at (630) 543-3080.

Why does the Village prohibit overnight parking?

Parking on Village streets is prohibited between the hours of 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. Violators will be given citations. The Village prohibits overnight parking to ensure accessibility to snowplows, street sweepers and waste collection trucks.

In the event of unusual circumstances such as the resurfacing of a driveway or other conditions, making overnight parking on the street necessary, residents are advised to contact the Dispatch Center at the Addison Police Department at (630) 543-3080 to request special parking permission. Residents will be required to provide the vehicle description (make, model and color), along with the license plate number and state, if not Illinois.

How can I obtain a copy of a police report?

You must come into the Addison Police Department to fill out a Freedom of Information form. There is no charge for requests less than 51 pages. Requests of 51 pages or more are 15 cents for each additional page. Photos and other media are at an additional cost. The Addison Police Department will respond to your request within five (5) business days. Not all reports qualify for release. Arrests not yet adjudicated are not released. Cases actively being investigated are not released. Juvenile information is not released. Personal information of an intimate nature is not released.
